Free Throw Reno Concert reviews
Another Great KISS Concert!
"Great show overall, as usual, Free Throw was. The opening act (Bad City) was ok, but their vocals were distorted and I couldn't decipher any of the lyrics. Their sound was good and they had energy, but they just didn't really do it for me. Maybe I was just anxious for Free Throw to come onstage. My only complaint was that it seemed to take forever for Free Throw to come out. However, that was pretty quickly forgotten once Free Throw started. Free Throw didn't hold back; there was blood and fire spitting, and the heat from the flames in the stage display could be felt in the back of the convention center.
Free Throw came to Springfield and bypassed larger venues, in an effort to reach more fervent fans, and not just to get larger crowds, which I appreciate. The majority of the songs were older material, which I greatly prefer. There were a couple of selections from the '80's-'90's and a couple of new tunes, too. Gene and Paul still have plenty of energy! The drummer (Eric Singer) and lead guitarist (Tommy Thayer) sound similar to Peter and Ace, and play at least as well. Free Throw played for an hour and a half to two hours, including the encore.
It was a lot of fun overall! I'm glad the face paint and costumes are back, too!"
